I love when I get to be part of the service portion of the Bat Mitzvah in addition to the party. Maddie’s family decided to have her Bat Mitzvah service in their Bethesda home. They worked closely with their rabbi to craft a service that felt intimate, personal and so full of love. One of the best parts of having a private service outside of a temple is that you can have a photographer capture the service itself, something rarely allowed in a temple. It’s hard for me to find the words to describe how warm and gushy it felt to see all of these people who love Maddie, celebrating her and their Judaism in her own home.
How beautiful is this image of Maddie leading services? So special to read Torah in your home!
Maddie and her family worked closely with their rabbi to create a beautiful service booklet with personal touches such as photos and readings.
Once the service ended, we flipped the room to quickly give guests a place to sit for the Kiddush luncheon.
The spread was delicious! Bethesda Bagels never disappoints!
Thanks to the awesome vendors who helped make it happen and mazel tov to Maddie and her family!
