Over the years, we’ve worked at (and blogged about) many Bar Mitzvah venues all over Maryland, Virginia and DC. Over the next few weeks, we wanted to share some of our very favorites with links to where you can find more info. We’ve already shared some of our favorite unique Bar Mitzvah venues in Montgomery County, MD, so now we want to share the old standbys– hotels and country clubs. Country Clubs in Montgomery County
Keep in mind that for some of these clubs you either need to be a member or sponsored by a member to host a party there. All of them offer stunning views of golf courses that make a great backdrop for posed family photos.
Gorgeous pre-function area or large outdoor patio for adult cocktails plus a large ballroom. Great for about 170 guests.
Bretton Woods Recreation Center in Germantown
Has a beautiful fireplace in the ballroom and is comfortable for about 120 guests. They also have options for outdoor adventure. Check out Rowan’s Mitzvah.
Lakewood Country Club in Rockville
The staff at Lakewood is top notch! They have a good sized ballroom with a cocktail space that overlooks their golf course. Check out Ethan’s Bar Mitzvah.
Manor Country Club in Rockville
Has a lovely space for cocktail hour with a fireplace and is best suited for events under about 140 guests.
Woodmont Country Club in Rockville
Has a beautiful outdoor balcony or stunning pre-function space that works well for adult cocktail hour. They have an enormous space that can easily fit 200. Check out Noah’s Bar Mitzvah

The Bethesdan Hotel, Tapestry Collection by Hilton in Bethesda
Recently renovated and rebranded with a stunning staircase great for photos. Check out Eva and Lily’s Bat Mitzvah.
The Bolger Center in Potomac
This is an affordable venue with a few different spaces that work well for moderately-sized parties. Check out Michael’s Bar Mitzvah.
Canopy by Hilton Washington DC Bethesda North
We love this property because it has all of the benefits of a hotel without the feel of a hotel. Check out Zoe’s Bat Mitzvah.
DoubleTree by Hilton Washington DC North/Gaithersburg

Gaithersburg Marriott Washingtonian Center
Located in the Rio, this is a great option for out of town guests with lots of amenities nearby.
Huge ballroom that can easily accommodate 250 plus they have a rooftop space with 360 views of Bethesda that works well for cocktail hour or a smaller brunch or Shabbat Dinner.
They have 2 great ballrooms that work well for different sized parties. The smaller of the two ballrooms has its own private entrance. Check out Alex’s Bar Mitzvah.
